Wellness all year round

SPA — Le Vie del Benessere

The thermal SPA at Terme di Roma — the Vie del Benessere (‘Paths of Wellness’) SPA — is a circuit where sulphurous water meets spaces designed for the wellbeing of body and mind. At the heart of the experience is the heated indoor sulphurous pool, with water jets dedicated to the different areas of the body.

SPA — Le Vie del Benessere

The circuit includes:

  • Heated indoor sulphurous pool
  • Sauna and steam bath
  • Kneipp baths and hot–cold vascular circuit
  • Whirlpool bath
  • Aromatic shower and overhead ‘sail’ showers
  • Relaxation area with herbal tea service

The vascular circuit alternates warm water (35 °C) and cold water (23.4 °C): genuine exercise for the blood vessels, recommended for heavy legs and venous-lymphatic insufficiency. The sauna and steam bath offer dry heat and moist steam; the relaxation room with its herbal tea service brings the circuit to a close.

Tips for use, in brief

Sauna — no more than 15–20 minutes, build up gradually, replace lost fluids (herbal teas, water; no alcohol). To be avoided with very high or low blood pressure, heart conditions, fever, varicose veins, pregnancy.

Steam bath — lower temperatures and saturated steam: deeply hydrates the skin and decongests the airways. Same precautions as the sauna; not recommended for those who suffer from claustrophobia.

Kneipp baths — 2–3 minutes in the warm bath (34 °C), then the same in the cold one (23.4 °C): stimulates circulation and the immune system.

Vascular circuit — walk for 10–15 minutes alternating warm and cold, clockwise: briskly through the warm water, slowly through the cold. No contraindications.
